Peter J. Schubert, PhD. President
Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at IUPUI and Director of the Richard G. Lugar Center for Renewable Energy, Dr. Schubert has served as TAMI President since 2015. Dr. Schubert has published over 10 book chapters and over 100 conference and journal papers. He recently authored a workbook for space resources utilization and audiobook Titan of Cislunar Space that provides an exciting roadmap for how to use space resources throughout the solar system to promote intergalactic travel.
Thomas P. Burke II, PhD. Vice President
Dr. Burke is a professor in the School of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. Originally from Fishers, Indiana and a proud alumnus of Indiana University, Dr. Burke is passionate about promoting Indiana students who are pursuing careers in space travel. He carries on the legacy of contributing to TAMI from his father Tom Burke, former TAMI president.
Michael Bilyeu. Secretary
With Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University, Mr. Bilyeu is an expert in propulsion, aerodynamics, and nuclear engineering. Mr. Bilyeu himself is a star product of Andromeda Movement scholarships while at Purdue and is passionate for providing younger generations with opportunities to investigate the galaxy.
Aaron McCord, Founder
Aaron McCord was a dreamer from Madison County who believed that one day we might succeed in traveling beyond the borders of our galaxy to explore the universe. In 1997 Aaron's estate established the Andromeda Movement, a registered non-profit 501(c)(3), with the goal of sponsoring Indiana students interested in space exploration. In this way, Aaron left a legacy for younger generations to pursue careers in space flight.
Former TAMI trustees and organizational contributors:
Tom Burke, Esq
Former TAMI President Tom Burke diligently and passionately oversaw the scholarship foundation from 1997 to 2013. He loved interacting with the student awardees, including current trustee Michael Bilyeu. His law office was based in Anderson IN, where he met Aaron McCord and managed his estate after Aaron's passing. Tom passed away in 2013 and his legacy of TAMI leadership is carried on by his son Thomas II and his friend Michael Bilyeu. Tom will always be remembered as the "eccentric lawyer" who loved laughing, gardening, skiing, and wearing the most outrageously colorful ties of any attorney in the county.
Jonathon Builta, Esq
Former TAMI President Jonathan Builta and attorney in Anderson, IN carried on the legacy of passionate TAMI leadership from 2013 to 2015, where he oversaw generous scholarship allocations to students interested in space exploration. Jonathan passed away in 2015 and will always be remembered for his generosity, humor, and positive attitude.
Jama Jameson
Jama was a trustee who served with Tom, Jonathan, and Thomas, and was passionate about scholarship donations and making TAMI run fluently as a 501c3.
Sandy Wilcox
Sandy was a trusted an invaluable financial advisor for TAMI and was vital to TAMI's success as a scholarship organization.
